Below is a sample schedule for a 1 Day Summer session of Parent & Family Orientation (Slight adjustments may occur but those would not impact start and end times of the overall session.) Final schedules will be given at orientation check-in. Sessions taking place in late May, June, and July (for Summer and/or Fall classes) are open to transfer students and their families. August sessions (for Summer and/or Fall classes) are open to first-year and transfer students and their families.

1 Day Summer Orientation

Check-in

8:00 – 8:45 a.m. The University of Alabama Student Center, 2nd floor
Receive your materials, name tag, and information for the day. (New UA students must be registered in advance for Bama Bound.)

Capstone Connections Information Fair

8:00 – 9:00 a.m. Student Center, 2nd floor
Visit with campus partners to learn more about specific opportunities, organizations, and resources that will enhance your student’s college experience. NOTE: This event doesn’t occur for the August sessions.

Welcome to The University of Alabama

9 – 9:35 a.m. Student Center Ballroom, 3rd floor
Meet the Orientation Staff and University Leadership who will assist you throughout your orientation experience.

College Visit

9:45  – 11:15 a.m. Various Locations
During this session, you will learn of opportunities within your student’s academic area and begin conversations about your student’s class schedule.

Transfer Experience/Lunch

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Various Locations
Learn important inside information about campus life from the student perspective in the Transfer Experience presentation followed by lunch at the Student Center Food Court OR you will enjoy lunch followed by the Transfer Experience presentation. (Lunch is included in your Parent & Family Orientation fee.)

UA Police Department

1:10 – 1:30 p.m. Student Center Ballroom, 3rd floor
Learn about UAPD’s services and get tips on how to stay safe.

TIDE Health and Wellness

1:30 – 1:50 p.m. Student Center Ballroom, 3rd floor
Student Health Center & Pharmacy will detail their services and provide information on the benefits of staying well.

The Road to Success with CCSS

1:50 – 2:05 p.m. Student Center Ballroom, 3rd floor
Capstone Center for Student Success will offer opportunities to build community as well as advice and tips for being successful in your student’s first year at UA.

Student Account Services & Financial Aid
