Family Weekend is a “Choose Your Own Adventure” weekend with three main goals for UA families:
During Family Weekend, there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy time with your UA student and achieve those goals as a family.
Family Weekend 2023 will be held September 22-24, 2023.
This is a great time to visit campus to see your UA student’s “home away from home!” Social and educational family-friendly programs are planned for the weekend so you and your family can enjoy the campus, learn more about The University of Alabama, and experience the pride and tradition of Alabama football.

Note about football tickets for children: Anyone in attendance at the football game (including children 3 years of age and younger) must have a football ticket. A Family Weekend registration is required for eligibility to purchase football tickets for Alabama vs. Ole Miss football game. Instructions on how to purchase football tickets can be found on our Football Tickets page on the Family Weekend website. Any questions regarding football tickets should be directed to the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-877-TIDETIX.
A purchase cannot be changed once it has been made. You will need to create a new purchase by using your login information to reenter the registration site. This purchase will be separate from your initial order. Therefore, you will have two different charges that show up under your account. You may want to call the Athletic Ticket Office to request your football tickets be put together for this event (subject to availability). The purchase of additional football tickets is subject to availability.
Only those who purchase Family Weekend tickets will be able to purchase football tickets in the reserved Family Weekend area. Once Family Weekend tickets are purchased, the confirmation email will detail how to purchase football tickets in the Family Weekend area. You are eligible to purchase one football ticket for each Family Weekend registration ticket, while football tickets last. Friday during the day: The Stallings Dr./East Perimeter Lot (702 Johnny Stalling Drive, Tuscaloosa, AL), behind the Capstone College of Nursing, will be available for Family Weekend ticket holders free of charge during the day on Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A chartered Crimson Ride bus (specifically for Family Weekend guests) will be making stops at the Stallings Dr./E Perimeter Lot, the Student Center, and the President’s Mansion to help you get around campus on Friday. Your vehicle must be moved from the Stallings Dr./East Perimeter lot by 6 p.m. in preparation for game day. Paid Visitor Parking is also available. The buses will stop running at 6 p.m. and will NOT be traveling to the Kickoff Concert in downtown Tuscaloosa.
Handicap-accessible spots are available in the Stallings Dr./East Perimeter lot and the Transportation Hub parking deck (315 Hackberry Lane). A visitor’s pass can also be purchased for the day, which allows for handicap-accessible parking in many lots on campus.
Friday night: For the kickoff concert, please park at the parking garage located at 2230 7th St., Tuscaloosa, AL. If you are going to view the movie sponsored by University Programs. Parking will be available at the Student Center Parking Deck at 800 Campus Drive West, Tuscaloosa, AL (Family Weekend wristband required to enter garage). NOTE: We encourage you to park early downtown due to another event happening at 8 p.m.
Saturday, game day: Parking will be enforced. Visit UA Game day to learn more about game day parking. Family Weekend ticket holders may have already purchased game day parking in Stallings Dr./East Perimeter or Lot B. If you did purchase game day parking here is the Crimson Ride shuttle map. If you have not purchased parking for game day, please visit https://uagameday.com Helpful tip: Downtown Tuscaloosa has public parking. Free game day parking is available in the Downtown Intermodal Facility parking deck located at 601 23rd Ave, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401. Take the STADIUM STROLL, it is less than a 1 mile walk from the parking facility to Bryant-Denny Stadium. Or you can ride public shuttle for a minimal fee.
Sunday: University parking regulations are not enforced, so parking is allowed in legal parking spots across campus.
Early Check-In will be in the Parent & Family Programs Office (2512 The University of Alabama Student Center) beginning Tuesday. Friday Check-In will be in the UA Student Center Great Hall.
Brunch: Admission for those who haven’t registered can be purchased at the door on Sunday in Lakeside Dining Hall.

All events during Family Weekend are ADA accessible, including the football game on Saturday. When you purchase football tickets, there will be wheelchair-accessible options. Visit the UA Gameday website for accessible parking information for Saturday and information regarding wheelchair accessibility in Bryant-Denny Stadium. If you have additional questions regarding wheelchair accessibility at the game, contact the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-877-TIDETIX. For accessible parking on campus on Friday, the Family Weekend reserved lot will have spaces available. Also, a visitor’s pass can be purchased from Parking Services for Friday, which will allow for accessible parking in many lots on campus.
The shuttle buses have a wheelchair ramp that folds down, allowing the wheelchair passenger to access the bus. They are not equipped with a lift, so the passenger will have to manually maneuver their chair or the driver can assist them.
