Receive your materials, nametag, and information for the day. Didn’t register in advance? No problem! You will be able to register onsite. (New UA students must be registered in advance for Bama Bound.)

Choose your own adventure and attend the sessions that best meet your interests or needs. Sessions offered by Honors College, Capstone Center for Student Success, and Veteran & Military Affairs. Additionally, campus tours will be offered during this time if you have not had a chance to see UA’s beautiful campus.

Welcome home to the Capstone! Join the orientation leaders to learn what to expect during orientation and how to connect with the UA community.
10:20 – 10:30 a.m.
At this time, students are dismissed to attend student-only sessions. Parents & family members will rejoin students for the afternoon’s College Visit and dinner.

Learn essential academic information you’ll need to best support your student in their academic endeavors at UA.

Whether your student is living on or off campus, Housing and Residential Communities is a great resource for all students and their families!

You will be escorted from the Ferguson Center Ballroom to various locations in the building to get inside information and tips, all from current UA students!
12:20 – 1:10 p.m. Ferguson Center Food Court, 2nd floor
Enjoy lunch with other parents and guests alongside the Parent Ambassadors.
1:10 – 1:40 p.m. Ferguson Center Ballroom, 3rd floor
Your student has not yet left the nest. A staff member from Parent & Family programs will help you navigate some of the important family conversations to have in preparation for your student’s transition to UA.
1:40 – 2:00 p.m.
2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Various Locations
You will be escorted by members of the Parent Ambassador team to your student’s school or college. During this session, you will learn of opportunities within your student’s academic area and begin conversations about your student’s class schedule.
4:00 – 4:15 p.m.
4:15 – 5:00 p.m.
Take this time to check some tasks off of your Bama to-do list with your student. Pick up their Action Card (student must be present with photo id). Get your individualized questions answered by Financial Aid (open until 4:45 p.m.), Student Account Services, or your student’s academic advisor. Staying on campus tonight, check into the residence hall.
5 – 6:30 p.m. Lakeside Dining
Enjoy dinner with your student. If you need food accommodations, a Bama Dining staff member can assist you.
Take a stroll on the Riverwalk. Grab dessert or coffee at one of Tuscaloosa’s many restaurants. Swing by the Orientation Help Desk for recommendations.
